There’s many interesting items to be found on Kickstarter, but these are the coolest ones this week.
Constellation Dice
I love how clever these dice are, especially the Fate dice. The d6s all have different constellations on them, with the pips being the stars in the constellation. The Fate versions have a bright star in a series of stars, making a plus sign on two sides, that spans to another side with one of the points, creating the minus sign. There’s still the other stars that function as a normal d6 as well. Currently your other dice options are d10s with moons (the d10) or with the planets (including the sun and Pluto, and works as the d100). They’re looking at creating a full dice set though, so keep your eyes on this project.
“Glow in the dark Constellation Dice were designed last year and found encouraging success. It’s originality has been recognized by the world record holder dice collector Mr. Kevin Cook, and the project is going to be featured in the art photo book “Dice – Rendezvous with Randomness” by Måns Danneman (to be soon published by Åskfågeln). They are still in demand, but not many are left. This campaign will provide good company to your First Edition Ptolemaic Constellation Dice (Northern Sky), while offering new backers the chance to grab the very last available First Edition, along with all new designs.”
City of Mist: A Noir RPG of Modern Day Legends
Aser and I have been watching a lot of noir movies lately, and I love the idea of a modern supers noir game. Playing your own game based of Jessica Jones or Daredevil could be a lot of fun, and hopefully feature a lot fewer ninjas. It uses a hybrid system of Fate and Apocalypse World called Roll+Tags. Both of these systems are narrative focused and flexible, so I’m interested to see how they play together in this game.
“City of Mist is a tabletop role-playing game about ordinary people in a modern city becoming incarnations of myths and legends. Inspired by the film noir and detective comic book genres, the game focuses on your crew’s search for answers in a city that seems to enshroud everything in false appearances as well as on the struggle between your character’s normal life and the legend growing inside her.

Farflung: SciFi Role Play After Dark
This sci-fi games uses the Apocalypse Engine to for a game of exploration. There’s all kinds of playbook options, like simulacrums or uplifted animal for you to chose from. I really like the art, it’s unique and playful and is a little more pastel then I’m used to seeing in sci-fi art. If you are looking for a new option for space exploration, as well as self exploration, then you should look at this new option.

Audio Game Hub
There aren’t a huge variety of audio games out there for visually impaired gamers to enjoy, and Audi Game Hub is looking to fix that. Pledging gives you access to the games they create, but you also get to vote on the games that you want to see them make. There’s also a Kickstarter exclusive game you will get. Currently the options include things like Minesweeper, Frogger, Road Race, Bowling, and Poker. The exclusive Kickstarter game is The Whispering Tunnels, which is an audio RPG. Gaming is something we love, and I assume since you’re here, you love it too, so check out this opportunity to bring it to more people.

Grin: A Darker Age
I love rules light games, especially when they’re horror games. Grin is currently available for free, so you can even try it out before pledging for this collection of 20 scenarios to play in. These include historical and modern games, and even one set of interwoven scenarios that have a decreasing number of players involved. I definitely want to try playing Grin now, and this seems like a great way to make sure the game keeps going.
