There’s many interesting items to be found on Kickstarter, but these are the coolest ones this week.
Little Ms. Crate
This subscription box intends to deliver cool STEM-themed items to young girls each month. If you know a 5-10 year old girl who is interested in STEM, this box is for her! You can even donate to send crates to charitable organizations to help girls whose families can’t afford the boxes. I think this box is a great idea, and looks like a great idea to help girls learn about what they really can do.
“Each month’s crate is different, but each is designed by Little Ms. Crate’s panel of early childhood development experts and contains unique activities, games, stories, props, and profiles of women role models, which provide just enough structure and inspiration for hours of educational, self-directed play.
Little Ms. Crate is about refuting society’s many negative messages and showing our girls that careers in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) and leadership ARE “for girls”.
Little Ms. Crate is about showing the connections between the impactful, meaningful careers that our little girls tell us they want when they grow up, and the math and science classes they’re taking right now.”
Great Old Ones Idols
This set of carefully crafted idols of the Elder gods would be a creepily awesome addition to your home. Who knows, it may prompt them to give you a quick merciful death when they return. They’re available in both bronze and resin.
“I started to read Robert E. Howard and H.P. lovecraft at the age of 13 (The 1st story I read was ‘The Shadow Out of Time’). Several decades after I am still impressed by his tales and his impressive fantasy, that invites the reader to develop his imagination.
I couldn’t avoid sculping his characters and produce them, not only for RPG and Board Games (in resin) but also in a deluxe edition in Solid Bronze Metal, to which I applied a treatment of aging and oxid, that gives the figure a genuine look of Ancient Idols from outer time.”
Faerie Ring for Pathfinder and 5e
I love stories about Faeries, I love how cruel and unearthly and cunning they are. This kickstarter is helping you bring Faeries into your Pathfinder and 5e games. If you’ve ever wanted to trap your players in a bargain they cannot easily escape, introducing Faerie to your story is a great place to start.
“The Faerie Ring expands the fey options for both players and GMs using either Pathfinder Roleplaying Game or 5E and creates new opportunities for meddling where you probably shouldn’t. It introduces new fey monsters, playable fey races and other character options, fey big bads or patrons (or both!), fey cities and planes and other locales, and more.
This project aims to highlight the fey: to build their mythos with the strong personalities of powerful fey lords, to build their mystery with extraplanar fey locales and adventures, and to build their influence with fey character options.
We’re updating and remastering the two existing PDF releases (“Prelude” and “Red Jack”) and incorporating them along with nine additional chapters of brand new content as The Faerie Ring: Along the Twisting Way in two printed volumes: a Campaign Guide and a Player’s Guide.”
Keys for Nerdy People
These keys look like a lot of fun, and would definitely set your key ring apart. Current designs include The Master Sword, Anduril, the Keyblade, Sting, and Kylo Ren’s lightsaber
“BECOME A LEGEND – Now you can carry the world’s most legendary swords on your key ring. The Key Armory was created by nerds, whose lives were shaped by swords from fantasy stories and by the heroes who wielded them. Our team has worked with talented designers to create a unique set of keys in the shape of different swords from the stories we have all grown to love.”
